John McIntosh

John McIntosh currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at IPG Employee Benefits in Keene, NH.

John started his career with The Travelers Insurance Company in 1975, after graduating from Indiana University. Having served in several offices around the country, John became Manager of The Travelers’ Washington, D.C. field office in 1986. While there, he developed customer relationships with a number of entities including ALCOA, State of Maryland, The Professional Insurance Agents Group Insurance Trust, Merck, and the Government of the Virgin Islands.

In 1992, John joined CoreSource, Inc. as Vice President and became President and General Manager of its wholly owned subsidiary, CoreSource New England. At CoreSource, he worked with brokers, consultants, employers, and organizations on self-funded health and welfare plans. Additional, John was instrumental in developing integrated health care delivery systems in Maine and West Virginia for several physician hospital organizations as well as US Steel, International Paper, Westmoreland Coal, and the United Mine Workers of America.

In 1996 John held his last position, at Tufts Health Plan in Waltham, MA, before joining IPG in 2001. There he was Regional Sales Director and was responsible for large group sales and account management in Eastern Massachusetts.

John has served on The Travelers’ President’s Advisory Council, Harvard Pilgrim’s Health Care Broker Advisory Board, and participates with other industry and community groups.
